EDGC Software Engineer

Boehringer Ingelheim is one of the world's leading pharmaceutical companies. Our Enterprise Data & Platform team is responsible for developing a data-driven digital solutions together with all business units of Boehringer Ingelheim. We work in international, cross-functional teams with domain experts to explore and harness the potential of data for our business.

As EDGC Software Engineer, you work within a team of engineers to deliver qualitative software though our Enterprise Cloud Data eco-system: BI Dataland. You will ensure that the corporative Data Catalogue solution in BI will make data assets to new ideas and initiatives in a compliant and secure manner.

Tasks and responsibilities

  • As product team member you will work with other team members to iteratively develop solution increments,

  • You will document as required for the purpose of supporting the developed solution in live use,

  • You will be testing the output of your teamwork prior the independent testing,

  • Agreeing and adhering to technical constraints,

  • Adhering to the organization’s technical implementation standards and best practices,

  • Participating in any quality assurance work required to ensure the delivered product are truly fit for purpose,

  • Record (and later interpreting) the detail of any change to the detailed requirements.

*Requirements *

  • Strong software development background with at least 5 years’ experience (i.e., Java, Spring, React)

  • At least 1 year experience in technical implementation of one of the areas: Data governance, Metadata Management

  • Experience in engineering practices such as code refactoring, design patterns, design driven development, continuous integration, building highly scalable application and security,

  • Strong focus on building reusable architecture components and modules to strive for synergies,

  • Experience with agile development methods,

  • Experience working in an international and intercultural environment with team members and stakeholders distributed geographically,

  • Working knowledge of AWS, Collibra, Data Management and Data Governance will be an advantage.

  • Understanding of DATAM standards (desirable)

  • Experience working in highly regulated environments (desirable)

  • Experience creating Collibra connectors (desirable)

  • English working proficiency
