Description

Robert Half is looking for a Desktop Support Technician with the ability to communicate complex technical information to non-technical users in an understandable and concise format. POSITION: DESKTOP/HELP DESK

LOCATION: DALLAS

RATE: $23-$25.50/HR

DURATION: 6 MONTH CTH

Position Description:

• Provides Help Desk support to end users in person, over the phone, through remote sessions, and via email to address requests submitted to the Help Desk ticketing system

• Installs and configures desktop PCs, images, software, and hardware

• Evaluates and resolves complex problems with hardware, software, servers, and networks

• Replaces failed hardware and systems as needed, referring major issues to management

• Organizes, inventories, and manages company-owned hardware, software, and devices

• Provides a safe and responsive internet experience for all users by testing application and website responsiveness and verifying users have the appropriate level of access security for network resources.

• Manages and supports campus-wide systems such as digital signage and audio solutions

• Monitors and maintains the use and connectivity of printers and print servers

• Provides status updates to manager, teammates, and users via phone, email, or in person

• Assists in the design, documentation, testing, and implementation of servers, PCs, network equipment, and related antivirus systems and security procedures

• Installs and maintains network hardware including cabling, switches, and routers

• Assists with deployment, maintenance, and support of VoIP phones

• Connects users to networks and provides initial training in facilities and applications

• Assists in the customization and adaptation of new and existing programs to meet users’ requirements

• Performs other duties as assigned by management

Requirements

  • Knowledgeable when it comes to writing reports, business correspondence, user instructions, and procedure manuals

  • Desktop Support experience

  • Strong familiarity with User Account Creation

  • Comprehensive knowledge of Computer Hardware

  • Desktop support or related experience
