Star Leasing Company Staff Accountant in Dublin, Ohio
Job Title: Staff Accountant

Reports To: Accounting Manager
Job Summary:
The Staff Accountant assists in preparing monthly financial statements and related reports, provide information for sales/use and property tax return filings, and performs analysis regarding the company's accounting records.
Duties/Responsibilities:

Communicate, model, and monitor compliance with Star's Core Values and policies and incorporate them into performance plans, coaching and corrective action
Assist with month-end and year-end closing processes
Assist with reconciliation of balance sheet accounts, bank accounts and credit card statements
Assist with reconciliation of inventory and fixed assets
Assist with preparation and reconciliation of multi-state sales, fuel, and excise tax returns
Assist in preparation of monthly financial statements and supporting schedules for multiple branch locations
Reviewing the preliminary financial statements with managers and identifying any required adjustments
Maintain accurate financial records and ensuring compliance with regulations
Preparation and posting journal entries to the General Ledger
Supporting company personnel in obtaining and interpreting information from our ERP system
Provide support to corporate officers, administrative managers, and operations managers as needed
Maintain knowledge of acceptable accounting practices and procedures.
Perform other related duties as assigned
Required Skills/Abilities:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA is desirable but not required
1-2 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
Proficiency in using financial software systems and/or ERP and Microsoft Office Suite
Strong technical, analytical, critical thinking, problem solving, time management, organization and communication skills
Ability to work independently and within a team, comfortable in a dynamic and fast paced environment with ability to meet deadlines
High degree of accuracy and attention to detail
Ability to analyze, read, and interpret common business and legal documents
Experience with Avalara, Sale/Use Tax and fixed asset management desirable but not required
