The Application Teams of the Cybersecurity and Applications Practice are responsible for managing the Assurance IT Ecosystem. A key task of the IT Ecosystem is the automation and digitalization of the Siemens Assurance processes.

A DevOps team, consisting of product owners, software developers, and AI experts, has been established to develop and operate the required IT applications. As a member of the DevOps team, you are responsible for identifying and developing AI-based digital solutions to optimize the Assurance IT Ecosystem functionality.

You will work closely (starting October, 1 2024) with various Assurance departments and, together with the other members of the DevOps team, ensure the timely implementation of innovation, digitalization, and automation solutions using AI.

What you’ll be doing.

As an Associate with focus on Data Engineering and Cloud Architecture you should be able to apply end-to-end experience with application hosting in the cloud (e.g., in AWS and/or Azure), ETL pipelines and data architecture and DevOps processes, virtualization, containerization, and infrastructure-as-a-service technology.

• Design, develop, and maintain cloud native ETL/ELT pipelines on Azure, OpenShift and Snowflake for data ingestion, processing, transformation, and analysis.

• Collaborate with data scientists, analysts, and business stakeholders to understand data requirements and implement solutions for advanced analytics and A.I. applications.

• Implement search technologies and RAG patterns for various A.I. applications.

• Ensure the scalability, reliability, and performance of data pipelines and systems to support the growing data needs of the organization.

• Work closely with cross-functional teams to integrate data from various sources and ensure data quality and consistency.

• Contribute to the evaluation and selection of cloud-based tools and technologies to enhance the data engineering capabilities.

• Develop and maintain documentation for data engineering processes, pipelines, and system architecture.

What it takes

• At least 3+ years of professional experience in data engineering, cloud technologies, and implementing data solutions for analytics and A.I. applications within Siemens, a technology company, or a respected assurance and consulting firm.

• Master’sdegree in computer science, Data Science, Statistics or similar.

• Proficiency in cloud platforms, particularly Azure and OpenShift, with hands-on experience in designing and implementing cloud-native ETL/ELT pipelines.

• Relevant certifications in cloud platforms and data engineering (e.g., Azure Data Engineer, AWS Certified Big Data - Specialty) would be an advantage.

• Strong understanding of data engineering best practices, including data modeling, data warehousing, and data governance.

• Experience in implementing search technologies, such as Elasticsearch, Solr, or Azure Cognitive Search, to enable efficient data retrieval and indexing.

• Familiarity with analytics and A.I. applications, including machine learning model deployment and data processing for advanced analytics.

• Proficient in programming languages such as Python, SQL, and familiarity with data processing frameworks (e.g., Spark, Databricks).

• Knowledge of data storage solutions in the cloud, including Azure Data Lake Storage, Azure SQL Database, and Azure Blob Storage.

• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot and optimize data pipelines for performance and efficiency.

• Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.

• Fluency in German, English is a plus.
