Job Description Summary

This role will support a key Global Occupier Services (GOS) client account in North America. The role reports to the Technical Services Manager. The Senior EHS Specialist will support the implementation of Service Level Agreements, Statements of Work, and policies, within the assigned Cushman & Wakefield's (C&W) account. The goal of this role is to ensure that the facilities comply with all relevant regulations, align with the client's safety culture, and that all employees are safe.

Job Description

o Assists in the establishment and provision of an environmental, health, and safety (EH&S) program for all C&W personnel and C&W third-party providers aligned with the Client's EH&S program and requirements.
o Advises Client on EH&S issues.
o Engages field operations with tactical execution of EHS programs and systems.
o Evaluate potentially hazardous situation/s and ensure C&W personnel and C&W third-party providers comply with all regulatory requirements.
o Administers processes in alignment with the client's EHS Management System.
o Drive safety culture with C&W personnel, contractors, and subcontractor environments.
o Program manages the account's AED maintenance program. Ensures territories are providing required oversight to include monthly visual checks and ensures Teams are coordinating any necessary repairs.
o Actively participate in Client Safety Committee meetings and complete subsequently assigned action items associated with C&W's operational responsibilities.
o Identifies risk associated with the management of Cushman & Wakefield employees and contractors.
o Provide risk assessments to determine the impact on Cushman & Wakefield and client staff.
o Supports the GOS EHS contractor qualification system.
o Maintains a process for safety-related incident, injury, and near-miss tracking. Conduct post-incident evaluations and produce incident summary reports with recommendations.
o Coordinates the implementation of corrective and preventive actions and lessons learned related to EHS incidents.
o Tracks all inspections and maintenance of life safety and emergency equipment under C&W's area of responsibility and in accordance with regulatory specified frequencies.
o Administer safety programs and training to C&W personnel, including control of hazardous energy and electrical safety, hazard communication, chemical safety, waste management, Personal protective equipment, etc., pursuant to applicable requirements.
o Coordinates with territories to ensure a site chemical inventory list is kept for every property. Conducts an annual chemical audit.
o Perform and record C&W risk assessments (JHA) for tasks completed in critical environments, facilities, IT, and office environments.
o Ensures LOTO training is conducted, and Client policy is adhered to by the C&W team.
o Performs and records regulatory compliance inspections related to operational infrastructure.
o Performs C&W safety inspections, report findings, and evaluate corrective actions.
o Work with territories to ensure proper maintenance of existing safety, fire safety, and egress-related signage.
o Prepare, record, and submit environmental and safety regulatory reports for C&W operational responsibilities.
o Effectively interface with the C&W Teams and Contractors to ensure building modifications driven by C&W are implemented using sound EH&S policies and standards.
o Confirms compliance by all C&W personnel and subcontractors with all Client EHS programs and applicable EHS regulations.
o Work with Territories to ensure all alarm systems and detection devices associated with underground and above ground storage tanks (UST's) function properly and the various tanks are inspected by a certified firm on an annual basis at a minimum.
o Ensure that territories implement corrective and preventive actions and lessons learned related to EHS incidents.
o Manages the Learning Management System and assigns appropriate trainings by role
o Coordinates with territories and ensures the implementation of any COVID-19-related precautions/actions as required by WeWork.
o Notifies clients promptly of any governmental or regulatory inspection requests.
o Ensures Teams are properly coordinating access for inspections with client permission and/or participation before any inspection takes place.
o Supports incident Investigations in conjunction with the online reporting system.
o Administers EHS processes for the client account EHS group.
o Produces and analyzes reports with EHS statistics to be presented to senior management.
o Identify and evaluate operational environment, health & safety (EHS) risks.
o Works with Field Teams to create job hazard assessments as necessary.
o Conduct assessments of existing EHS programs to ensure alignment with the account strategy.
o Work with Territories to identify EHS training needs based on identified operational risks and ensure that workforce training activities are provided to meet business and regulatory requirements.
o Work with and advise contractors in the identification and implementation of corrective actions for identified deficiencies or issues.
o Create, validate, and communicate lessons learned via Significant Events (SE)
and Significant Potential Events (SPE) with EHS team(s) and trade partners.
o Investigate and analyze incident reports involving work-related injuries and
illnesses, and recommend measures to prevent recurrence.
o Conducts investigations and immediately reports all incidents, near misses, and
occupational illness and recommends means of preventing recurrence.
o Perform floor walks and observe work activities, document observations and
provide coaching/feedback to personnel to ensure proper safe work behaviors and practices.

* Requirements & Competencies:
o Bachelor of Science degree is required. Specialization in Occupational Safety and Health, Engineering or Environmental Sciences is preferred.
o Requires 5 years of experience within the EHS profession.
o Knowledge of Environmental, Occupational Safety and Health regulations (OSHA/EPA).
o Ability to lead and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
o Ability to leverage office systems such as Microsoft Office Suite, SharePoint, etc.
o The ability to travel (approximately 15%).
o Candidates with the ability to obtain Professional Certifications (CSP, ASP, CHMM etc.) are desirable.

The compensation that will be offered to the successful candidate will depend on factors such as whether the position is covered by a collective bargaining agreement, the geographic area in which the work will be performed, market pay rates in that area, and the candidate's experience and qualifications.


The company will not pay less than minimum wage for this role.


The compensation for the position is: $80,750.00 - $95,000.00
