Guardian Life Senior System Engineer, Workplace Technology in New York, New York

Overview

As a Senior System Engineer, you will design, implement, and maintain our organization's Microsoft infrastructure, focusing on end user facing technologies (workplace) with an emphasis on ensuring its security and compliance. You will collaborate with multi-functional teams to ensure a reliable, secure, and scalable environment that meets the needs of our business. Your main focus will be to lead and maintain the security related platforms from vendors such as Microsoft, Ivanti, and Trellix.

You Are:

  • Someone with a solid understanding of technology related to and supporting Microsoft technologies with a focus on securing end points.

  • Continuously recommend and implement process and workflow improvements.

  • Someone that is detail oriented and organized to optimally communicate results.

  • Someone that can implement by demonstrating solid focus and determination to overcome obstacles and get results.

You Will:

  • Monitor and troubleshoot system performance, availability, and security issues, and provide root cause analysis and resolution.

  • Manage and update system documentation, policies, and procedures, and ensure compliance with industry standards and best practices.

  • Perform system audits, assessments, and tests, and report on security vulnerabilities and risks.

  • Research and evaluate new technologies and solutions and provide recommendations and roadmaps for system improvement and optimization.

  • Provide technical expertise and support for Microsoft-related issues, including troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and problem resolution.

  • Develop and maintain PowerShell scripts or other automation tools to streamline processes and improve operational efficiency.

  • Participate in on-call rotations and provide timely resolution of critical incidents or service disruptions related to Microsoft technologies.

  • Cultivate a culture of continuous improvement, identify areas for improvement and developing and implementing plans to motivate change.

  • Actively participate in Workplace SAFe Agile Release Train.

  • Take ownership of technical escalations with balancing a security mentality with customer experience.

  • Work with vendors and other technical staff and perform other duties as assigned.

You Have:

  • At least 5 years of experience as a Systems Engineer, Systems Administrator, or similar role, with a heavy focus on Microsoft products and security solutions.

  • Proficient in PowerShell scripting and automation techniques to streamline administrative tasks and improve operational efficiency.

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. Relevant certifications (MCSE, MCSA) are highly desirable.

  • Strong expertise in Ivanti Environment Manager, Ivanti Application Control, Trellix Drive Encryption and Trellix DLP. Experience with computers with Cisco Secure Client a plus.

  • In-depth knowledge of Windows 11 and other Microsoft operating systems, as well as Active Directory, Group Policy, and related technologies.

  • Solid understanding of modern management concepts, such as Cloud Management Gateway, Co-Management, AutoPilot and Comp Portal.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.

  • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality work within defined timelines.

Location & Travel:

  • 2 Days a week at our Holmdel, NJ Location

Salary Range

$99,190.00 - $162,955.00

The salary range reflected above is a good faith estimate of base pay for the primary location of the position. The salary for this position ultimately will be determined based on the education, experience, knowledge, and abilities of the successful candidate. In addition to salary, this role may also be eligible for annual, sales, or other incentive compensation.
