Job Description Summary

Reporting to the Planned Maintenance (PM) Tech Leader, this role will be responsible for maintaining equipment through performing regular PM tasks and other maintenance activities as required according to the equipment maintenance plan. Will assist manufacturing unit team with production maintenance issues as necessary and mentor the unit technical staff in best methods of troubleshooting and operational repair techniques. This role must be willing to adjust work schedule as needed to perform essential PM activities and maximize equipment availability. Ensures compliance with BD quality systems, policies, procedures and best practices, and all local, state, federal and BD safety regulations, policies and procedures.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Maintain equipment by performing PM activities, ensuring activities are completed on-time andexecuted according to the plan.

  • Work closely with Maintenance Planner to ensure maintenance tasks are well documented.

  • Conduct regular maintenance audits of equipment, identifying potential continuous improvementopportunities to improve PM program effectiveness.

  • Provide leadership for TPM activities as assigned.

  • Support the organization and preparation of spare parts and other applicable materials required tocomplete maintenance tasks for planned maintenance periods and equipment rebuild program.

  • Required to work during plant shut down periods to perform maintenance activities.

  • Provide support to the manufacturing unit technical teams as required to ensure optimal equipment performance.

  • Assist with technical development and training opportunities for unit technical staff on all shifts.

  • 3 axis alignments.

  • Motor replacements.

  • Maintain validated state of station.

  • Changing all hydraulic components as appropriate.

  • Trouble shoot and repair basic electrical malfunctions in all sensor types used in production.

  • Dismantle machinery and perform routine and non-routine repairs. Replace broken or defective parts reassemble machines and adjust equipment.

  • Coordinate the manufacture of replacement tooling with the Machine Shop.

  • Trouble shoot and repair basic electrical malfunctions in all sensor types used in production.

  • Correct minor electrical and logic problems using own initiative and judgment.

  • Other duties as required to support the needs of the business.

Minimum Education:

This position has the following minimum educational requirements:

  • High School Diploma/GED: Required

  • Associate degree – Preferred Mechanical or other related technical field

Minimum Experience:

  • 3 years’ experience in manufacturing preferred
