We are currently recruiting for a Lead Data Scientist - Digital & Data Science Group - Global Site & Services & Supply Chain Services (GSSCS) located in listed locations of US and Europe. Remote working is available.

As the Lead Data Scientist in the Global Site & Services & Supply Chain Services, you will work closely with all segments and functions to create an aligned digital product and technology strategy which anchors product-led transformation and integrated digital stack for better leverage, reusability, modularity and cost effectiveness.

Key Responsibilities

  • With increasing demands on integration needs, implement close-to-production codes written in Python in NLP/LLM/GenAI domain

  • Lead in test & learn and scaling new technologies in Deep and Classical Machine Learning (ML) and MLOps area with new digital product concept and technology feasibilities.

  • Develop and create new NLP/LLM/GenAI models to enhance and scale our NLP platform and its digital products, and deliver wide adoption of a variety of use cases across J&J

  • Interact with digital product end user community leaders in all segments and functions (including workshops, leadership meetings, strategy sessions and formal presentations) that help them adapt and use products to realize their priorities and benefits.

  • Become an internally and externally recognized NLP/LLM/GenAI expert in company wide digital transformation

Qualifications

Required

  • PhD or MS degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Statistics, Applied Mathematics, or any other related quantitative fields from an accredited college or university

  • Hands-on experience of working with NLP/LLM/GenAI of more than 2 (PhD) to 4 (MS) years

  • Strong hands-on experience in the Bash scripting and Python toolkit for data manipulation and machine learning (e.g., NumPy, Scikit-learn, TensorFlow, PyTorch)

  • Highly skilled in the implementation, fine-tuning, and transfer learning, statistical, classical and deep learning models

  • Proficiency with Agile development and driving the full SDLC process

  • Proficiency with programming in Python and SQL to manipulate data and build models

  • Up to 10% travel

Preferred

  • Prior research publications (conferences and journals) in healthcare

  • Experience with the latest development in LLM/GenAI, and their model fine-tuning, evaluation/benchmarking, and multi-modality research is a big plus

  • Experience with cloud computing and infrastructure and their solution framework: Azure, GCP, and AWS

  • Experience of data dashboard or programmatic data visualization using Tableau, Qlik, Power BI, Python, D3.js, or modern frontend JS frameworks

  • Experience with containerization technologies like Docker and orchestration tools like Kubernetes ecosystem

  • Knowledge of continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines

  • Open to explore advance areas in data science and ML such as reinforcement learning, adversarial learning, and graph neural networks

  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and written skills.

Salary

For US based candidates, the base pay range for this position is $123,250 USD to $166,750 USD. Some U.S. states have recently instituted certain pay transparency disclosure requirements.

Bonus

The Company maintains highly competitive, performance-based compensation programs. Under current guidelines, this position is eligible for an annual performance bonus in accordance with the terms of the applicable plan. The annual performance bonus is a cash bonus intended to provide an incentive to achieve annual targeted results by rewarding individual and the corporation’s performance over a calendar/ performance year. Bonuses are awarded at the Company’s discretion on an individual basis.
